Gares & Connexions, managing stations
Changes afoot in the world of transport! The SNCF's new business unit, Gares & Connexions is now responsible for the future of France's stations.
The role of Gares & Connexions is chiefly to promote the development of passenger stations, improve the way they work, redesign and reinvent them so that we are constantly tailoring stations to the challenges of the future.
In fulfilling this role, we will work in close cooperation with institutional partners such as the French railway regulator ARAF, local authorities and with French and European transport operators.
Gares & Connexions and its 1,200 employees are also supported in their work by three SNCF group subsidiaries - AREP, A2C and Parvis.
AREP is an engineering and design firm that works on station building and renovation projects. It provides architectural or engineering solutions for the management of crowds, ensuring that thoroughfares have a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere.
A2C designs, builds, markets and manages property (chiefly retail units) in a station environment.
Parvis, a subsidiary of A2C, provides consultancy support to project owners and real estate project management services, from cost and quality management to deadlines and the legal issues.
